V.B. Mykal is a painter and illustrator originally from Oakland, California where he attended the California College of the Arts. He works primarily in oils, but has steadily been working more digital aspects into his preliminary process. Heavily favoring science fiction and fantasy, his work tends towards uplifting body positivity, representing diversity, and celebrating the powerful women in his life.
He and his wife are currently living a nomadic lifestyle through Southern Europe; Greece is their preferred base of operations where he draws inspiration from the colors, culture, and coffees of his surroundings.
He has never drunk the paint water.
